Default External flash positions

Hi all bros and sis, just bought a remote cord for my external SB-600 flash. The cord allows me to shift my external flash head away from my DSLR body. How can i position my flash such that my aro will be illuminated and at the same time eliminate reflections in tank when i take the photo? Thanks in advance everyone

Heard the SB600 can be use as wireless... The flash is positioned above the tank... A diy cardboard is used to block the "pop up" flash from reflection...
Do a search, saw a thread with infos/setup...
