Interesting to learn that the ph varies in different area...I thought water comes ftom the same source and after treatment ph should be neutral. ..

First of all, what fish are you keeping?
Sure, pH is an important parameter but this common perception or misperception does not give you the full picture regarding water chemistry. I suggest you find out what's the total ammonia reading from your test kit. If your fish is swimming happily in say a water pH of 6.8 before water change, then you do a substantial WC with pH of 8, the non-toxic ionized ammonia will rapidly convert to toxic free ammonia and this will kill your fish. |
