The pond when i get near? Is this normal or are they just getting used to being in a pond? Also will aros pick up mp at the buttom? What do you feed them in pond?

normal ... they avoiding ma.. but they hungry sure swim up and near u if they know u are feeding them.
all sorts of normal food they sure eat. and yes they will pick up mp from the ground like in tanks

Divided into two equally, Are there 5 pcs in a 6x4x1.75?
Consider giving more space for the crowded side.

About hiding from you when you get near, its a new environment so they will naturally be more untrusting.
Spend more time in front of the tank when you are feeding so that they recognize you.

Arowana have their own behavior and temperement like cats.
Personally, most of time my aro wont pick from the floor unless he sees it freshly falling down.
