Solo Aro Feeling 'Fatherly'
Hi bros
My aro of about 4 years (I think) is acting kinda weird the last coupla weeks. Appetite has dropped quite a bit. When I give it its fav food ie crickets, it eats a few then the rest, it will accumulate in the mouth ala keeping eggs and swim around like a proud papa Have kept aros for more than 15 years and never observed this before. Has anyone else encountered this ? Sorry no pics (cant post em). Cheers |

He was from a comm of 7 initially. 1 died from sickness leaving 6 and kinda helped me make up my mind to go back to solo aro keeping.
During comm days, this piece would (like the rest) rush for its food. Now and then it would swim like a fighting fish - fins opened and mouth floor extended (like now). It never had food inside when it did that last time. Looks like my experienced is not so normal Cheerz |

also had experienced that before with one of my aros, he used to eat a lot, then i noticed he would store food in his mouth, not swallowing.
but he is back to normal now. |

I have similar experience too. After changing 20% water, next day it back to normal. You might want to try that.
