Hmmm.. This is rare.. Usually when you buy shrimps in packs, its usually the males that are rare. Meaning out of a pack of say 20 pcs you should get about 2-3 pcs of male if you are lucky. I ever bought a pack of fire reds with all 20 pcs being females! I think you should just buy more females in and see how it goes.

Hehe in another forum, someone ( not ts ) said that its impossible to selective breeding out till left one of the sex.
Back to topic. Now you can go gc and select those intensive yellow female to seletive breeding again. Its very difficult to get intensive colour male actually. |

I read from some overseas forums, temperature can determine the gender of the shrimplets at embryo stage.
And certain gender would hatch earlier than the other, thus early harvest at the hatchery generally have the batch of the same gender. My 2 cents worth... |

I guess i did not realise it at first until i saw that i had less and less berried females, then i realised. I was hoping some of the young shrimplets would be females, but it doesnt seem so, so i got worried only now. pH:7.5 Temp: Max 28, between 26-28 Water change: 10% once every 2 weeks Filter: Sponge filter Flora: java moss and hornwort |

They are yellow shrimp, size is average about 1.5cm, got some is bigger than that. What do you mean by what is the population? Are you asking how big is the population? There are about 40 shrimps. |
