Angry My New 24k Golden Arowana

My New 24k Golden Arowana

Hello Brother, Just bought my arowana for 2 weeks now. Tank 4x2x2. cycled tank , water parameter were all normal, ph 6.5, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10. when I introduced my arowana in my new tank, it seems he was okey. Swimming like a normal arowana. after 2 days change water for 10% only. My arowana started to hide under the plants and afraid of the room light and tank light. Checked all the water parameters again. It was all normal. there were no signs of illness or disease. I add salt and ketapang and stress coat. But until now 2 weeks and 2 days . He still afraid of the light. Tried to on the light for 18 and 24 hours still at the bottom. He got only 2 pleco tankmate green and blue pleco. Can you help me, what wrong with my arowana. waiting for your expeet advice. Thnaks in advance

Add some fast swimming tankmates ( must be smaller than ur aro )
&
Spend more time with ur aro.
Allow ur aro time to familiarize his new environment and u

Ts, welcome af

Do allow the new aro to adjust & acclimatize itself to the new tank, environment as well as you.

On tank light 24/7will help to stabilise the aro.

Btw, how big is your new aro?

Honest, different aros have different personality

All my new aros i on the room lights 24/7 for first week.
Suspect that is the shadows outside the tank that stress aros.

I found that my tank lights on or off not vital to break in the aro.
Fish tank lights i use timer to have lights off at least 6 hours to prevent algae.

Thank you for the reply. I put ketapang leaves already from eBay. Add some arowana salt with multi vitamins, water parameters are all normal. Change water every 2 days by10% only. But my aro still at the bottom. But when I on the light aro swim very normal. Still no tankmate . Again , thank you ,really appreciated your advice

Thanks bro, I think you are right cause my room light is on the wall only, cause I put my tank in our conservatory , wherein the light is on the side of the room. Do I need to take them off?

Let ur Aro some times to adjust itself to suit the new environment.

Ur Aro is yet to be stable.

Thanks bro for the reply, my aro is about 16 inches. I bought it from planet arowana UK. My tank is4x2x2. Only 24 inches of led white light. My aro swim normal at night specially when the light is off. Eating a mealworm and prawn. Seems no sign of disease from my aro. It will be 1month now this coming Monday. Hoping it is only stress. Thanks
