BEC or BES?
Finally saw one at C328 after so many years.
Didn't took me long to decide. Come to think of it, I had been too busy to visit C328 in the last 5 or more years. So my image is this is a rare fish, a collector piece. Just learnt from a bro from here when paying for the fish - there are two type of blue eyes ... Time fly, and name do evolve over the years.... Think this one closer to BEC? A little spikiness there, so could be BES too? Me fast learner. First thing after tapao home is to snap some pictures & videos to share here. Well , hope I don't lost it like the rest of the panaques. Panaque isn't my kind of fish actually as it need special diet & some form of security, else they seem to die off. This one was a little too aggressive in the tank housing my juvenile red aro as shown in the video below, so off it goes to pseduas tank where the occupants are too large for it to boss around till further decision. Here sharing some pictures closer up. Hope to catch some macro shots of the blue eyes one day. Under influence china made RGB LED flood lamps, giving it some colourful tints: |

The pleco indeed very quarrelsome. In the first tank as shown with smaller blue eye L137, it was too territorial & disruptive. In less than 15 minutes, its already asserted itself as supreme leader terrorising the smaller L137, but once transferred out (hoping the L137 will pair off eventually) to comm with the bigger pseudascanthicus, it went into hiding right back. I have not been able to catch a full glimpse of it since. Look like I need to do some reshuffling of my tanks. Sharing a video of the final battle:
