Koi and Astaxanthin
Dear Experience Bros.
Would like to ask if there are any beneficial effect (to colouration) feeding koi with astaxanthin. And how do you feed the powder to them. i.e. mix with what? (i.e. for discus it is mixed into the beefheart) |

I have tried fish food with heavy colour enhancing effects with astaxanthin (for blood parrots) on koi. Even so, i do not realli see my koi colour improve very much.
In the past, i used spirulina food n it took me about 4-5mths of feeding to get my koi colour back in shape ... still nt blood red but red enuff. In order to have blood red colouration, the most important factor is sunlight...it will help enhance the red in koi |

well.. sadly i'm writing this comment after the lost of my 7 koi.. painful reminder, WASH FILTER WOOL BEFORE USE!
Bro, one thing to note is that colour enhances tend to pink up the white nose of the koi.. so sometimes, it's best to have an on off diet like 3 months colour enhances and 3 months growth food.. spirulina is good, imho.. balance is key.. it always is.. happy keeping bro |
