Default actinic light question

ok.. some idiotic question?

wat's the different between fl light system and actinic light system?

is it just the tube diff? can i just take out the fl tube and put in actinic tube?

Actinic just mean blue colour lights. There are actinic FLs, PLs, t5s and even MH.

Actinic blue is mainly for aesthetic purposes and doesn't serve much purpose, don't use a pure actinic lighting system. Photosynthetic corals rely more on white lights than actinic blue lights to produce food.

generally agree with Kalib.

blue lights is nice to look at. I get to see creatures that comes out at night and behave normally.

blue light is very useful 4 coraline algae propagation. study has found out tat those LR deep below where blue spectrum can only penetrate can produce very good coraline algae. however, it can only b done during the initial stages of a aquarium setup. search the web n u will know more.

Nope. From what i know, more red in the light spectrum will promote algae growth.
