Good for the cat!
BTW you mentioned this being your first cat? Hope you are aware of the potential 'accidents' it can cause to tankmates? |

That 'Leopard Catfish' is a hybrid between a Tiger shovelnose and a redtail cat. Both are giant predatory fish with fast growth rates, it shares the same characteristics as its parents.

But like you mentioned, if will grow very big.. i only worry about my rocks.. hope it does not knock down the rocks.. I think the fishes are quite safe.. basically all of them are fast swimmer.. even i have a hard time trying to catch it.. |

I had a redtail cat once. Bought it because it was a cute 2 inch fella. Grew to more than6 inches in less than 3 months and ate one of my 4" tinfoil barbs. Couldn't swallow it and chokes itself to death with the tinfoil tail sticking out of its mouth.
Not sure what the moral of my story is....at least it solved my problem of what to do with it if it continues to grow....? |
