Why do you need to change water everyday? How much water did you change each time?

No point for you to keep adding baking soda and yet changing water so frequently, as hardened water will be replaced by new water before your KH even stabilized.

The bioload in your tank also affects the ph. High bioload = faster ph going down.

Might be that your dose of soda powder is not enough. It's ok to put more once your fishes get used to the higher pH.

Baking soda is better than coral chip, increase KH only. It is much more effective than coral chip.

What is your water capacity and number of guppy, fry or adult?

Just to share, all my freshwater tanks are fully without coral chip. All of them are having pH at about 7. My comm. tank with super high bioload too.

Keeping guppies canno do away wif WC de, siphoning of poo and topping is routine for some simple setup...a bigger tank (buffers) can save u some work (WC) Moreover, planter attract fish lice, a circulation system will likely suck up the fish (after few struggle the guppies give up liao) Green water no meaning (canno view) End of the day...regular WC ba...
