likely to be bacterial infection of wounds due to fights.
isolate it and maintain good water to help it heal faster.

melafix helps.

Bro, if possible isolate the aro in question.

Wc at 20 to 30% daily.

Maintain good water parameters is fundamental.

how bad is it, do u have a pic? if minor no need to medicate at all... check your water parameters.

some aros like to rub against the glass constantly and that also causes cloudy eyes (usually on 1 side).. but it's more due to abrasion and as long as water is good it'll heal naturally within a few days.

if it's not minor then treat it in a quarentine tank... using medication safe for rays is one thing... but dealing with the ammonia spike due to ur nitrifying bacteria dying out if u treat in your main tank, n then needing to cycle your tank all over again with such high bioload... u'll have much larger problems than current.

Agree. Waterlife medication is good need to turn off filtration (sump, ohf) and use just sponge filter at the moment. Do 20% wc daily. Put salt and add heater. Hope this would help

aros are hardy fish. more often than not most issues are associated with bad water, and are easily remedied by making sure ur water parameters are good.

most issues dont happen overnight... it's usually due to bad conditions that stress the aro and lower it's immunity system. issues like pimples, bent barbels, external cloudy eyes, raised/ protruding scales (not dropsy), excessive slime etcetc are not diseases.. they're symptons or simple bacterial infections. good water, UV steriliser, some salt should be sufficient. emphasis on good water. when's the last time u cleaned ur sump/ohf/canister?

by adding medication u're not treating the root of the problem. u'll cure the bacterial infections, but if water quality doesnt improve, ur aro will just fall sick again sooner or later. plus the medication will wipe out ur nitrifying bacteria, so u're going to have to cycle your tank all over again which makes it even harder to maintain ur water parameters.

dosing wrong type of medication or trying to combine too many types of medication, overdosing, failure to keep water parameters in check after your nitrifying bacteria are wiped out etcetc are more dangerous than not medicating.

obviously there are cases where medication IS required, especially for the more severe cases whereby either specific medication or broad spectrum antibiotics are required. that's why it's important to know what is caused by bad water/husbandry, and what is caused by certain parasites or bacteria. eg u dont go to the doctor for a minor cough or mild fever, but if u're vomitting and have high fever then it's a different story.
