update.. took out the moss on the top of the wood area.. end up looks like out of place.. may retie it again with moss.

bro want to check with you.. i am also using gex soil.. seems that gex soil has ph buffering abilities.. my 1 foot tank been cycling fishless for 2-3 weeks but ph is still unchange at 7.6.

check my tap water just in case the ph kit is expired but tap water ph is 7. hence no prob with ph kit. my tank is low tech with no co2 injection..

this morning test ph again at 7.6 with coral chips only a few piece in filter like 10 small piece (1cm per piece kind). my gex filter has biohome plus, mr aqua cr and few piece of coral chips.

just added 2 oto inside yday. and this morning just add flourish excel..

coral chips rises the PH. Also, your tank is only 1 ft. 10 pieces maybe enough to cause a considerable amount of rise. what are u intending to keep in the tanks. Remove the coral chips if u wish to lower the PH. Try changing bigger amounts of aged water also.

thanks for the advice.. have removed from a handful down to 10 piece.. will check ph closely.. want to keep crs..

thanks.. i have to do maintance daily.. removing the brown algae.. i had bought 10 yamatos which i had not used them for a year+.. giving them another chance to prove to me they are effective algae cleaners.
will update soon.
