Difference between Oranda and Ryukin ?
Hi all
Wanna ask shi fu, what is the difference between an Oranda and Ryukin? I saw some "Yi Dian Hong" goldfish and found them really cute. Planning to get some of them home, but want to see more deciding which to get, hahas Its those goldfish white in color with a red cap on its head |

I don't want to sound rude, but you should do some research on goldfish before starting to keep some. Your question gives you away. Orandas have wide head with headgrowth whereas ryukins have pointy heads and a hump between the head and the dorsal fin.
If you're talking of a white gf with red cap, there is a good chance you're referring to a red cap oranda although other varieties may have this color pattern. |

Just google "Oranda" and "Ryukin" and you will be able to see the differences.
Most obvious is the hump on the Ryukin. As for the "Yi Dian Hong" you are refering to, it's a Red Cap Oranda. |

Just go for the one you like best.
Sometimes it's not the breed or type of goldfish. It's the "Yi Jian Zhong Qin" factor. |

I just "Yi Jian Zhong Qin" on 2 Orandas just now.
