Just a thought.
During the grow-out purchase event, the XBs sold are of various sizes, eg, VIP XB is about 6in and Raffles XB is about 3-4in. I have bought four XBs, QianHu, Rainbow, Raffles and Dreamfish. At the moment, my biggest Xb, belonging to Dreamfish is only max 8in and the smallest from Raffles is only 6in. I thought I have some problems in increasing the size of the XBs, but after reading some threads from some brothers in AF, I realised that the sizes of my aros are appropriate. I really wonder if XBs of these sizes can be judged to know their potentials and can the grooming skills of the owner be evaluated? |

Should we take all the crossbacks back, return your purchase money and cancel the event ? this is the best thought that comes |

No no no.. that is not my idea. This grow out event is interesting thus aroused lots of interest from the hobbyist and I appreciated the effort put in by the committee in organising the event.
Getting some information from other arowanas competition, young competing XB should have a body length of 35-45cm to enter the young category. I believe these criteria are resulted from serious considerations so it will be good to use these guidelines for AF grow-out competition. The initial objective of the event is to evaluate the grooming skills of the hobbyist and its effect on the XBs. Since you requested for some suggestions, here are my proposals. 1. Hobbyist to take pictures of their XBs and state the grooming process to share with fellow hobbyist. 2. A "daring" proposal. Postpone the event to December 2011 so that the XBs will be 12-15in and its potential will be exhibited. I understand it will be difficult since some activities have been planned. I really want to see great success in this event. Thank you. Last edited by Chuan; 04-05-2011 at 04:00 PM. |

1. All participants can share their experiences in the forum. 2. As the term for the current committee members end in Sept, u'll need to wait after the AGM for activities for the next term. Thank you for your understanding... D24

I meant no one at home during the event of the aro jump out last night. As eariler inform, recently house his rainbow xb at my place (he initial want to stable the xb at my place for a month plus). He mention wrongly abt the farm branding. Sorry for the trouble. Last edited by gtohow; 09-05-2011 at 01:09 PM. |
