From what i can see, yr fish are not of poor quality, just that u did not feed enuf & pond not deep enuf. I have bought all my fish in Nippon over the 4 yrs that i was there, big & small, even local bred ones! |

i always felt u're someone of very high taste. It's not surprising that your koi are of such high quality judging by the snow white complexion of the tancho kohaku. Thanks so much for sharing. It has been an eye opening experience. |

Those were my good memories, it was good while it lasted. Having achieved wat was within my financial means to achieve, i was happy to move when the economic reality of pond rental started to set in.... Between koi & aro, i still prefer koi. Until i can afford a landed place, i'll have to put koi on hold first... |

Thanks for the compliment. Chagoi, the one coloured carp was the origin of all kois. They're the wild ones from nature. So all one coloured carps do to certain extend will possess the big size and friendly nature of the chagoi. there has been many varieties of chagoi over the years namely the Yamabuki, Puruchina, Karashi, Doitsu, Margoi etc............. hope you've all enjoy some of my many collections of yesteryears. I'm still pinning for a comeback in koi even till now. Just my 2 cents. |

His pond is 5ft deep. Caution must be observed as a deep pond may caused the walls of your house or neighbour's to crack. A 2 ft surrounding may be raised to add the depth of the pond to 7ft, the ideal depth of koi pond and also allowed one to sit and handfeed the living jewels. Strong filteration with backflush and aeration system must be present. Do add some simple vegetable filteration into your filteration system with a UVC attached. Surface skimmer and venturis are a must !! Just my 2 cents |
