UPDATE!!!
13 weeks picture

Can see that the red is slowly gone for the white one. I fear it may become completely white but he(I think so) is a good swimmer.
See below video,

Please give some comments and suggestion.

Thanks for updating bro, to me the white fish has better tail than the red one....but the white fish might not grow to be big as the red one. Give them more frequent water change yeah. Cheers

The white might be a better swimmer, but I think the red got better breed value if you intend to breed. These 2 pieces got the best scaling of all that I saw so far. Thanks for sharing.

Bro Nazari, the white one's tails is not so good when it was 8 weeks old but I am happy to see that it is doing well now. The red one's tails core is too flat, causing it to use more force to swim. Do you have any idea to correct this?
By giving more water change will promote better grow is it?

Bro Kit, thanks for your praise on the scaling I shall kept both pieces as I see lots of changes in them which I can learn a lot from their grow. Shall share with you more in another 2~3 weeks time.

Bro, Ranchus are ever changing so with proper care they will tend to be better. A mentor told me that sometime back when i started. I think he is right. We must always imagine what we want our fishes to be and work on it.....

Where do you keep these 2 at this present moment? I would suggest you get 2 toyogo plastic container of 80cm type for them. You alternate these 2 between the 2 toyogo each day. The container that has been used will be replaced by new water for next day change. By doing this you will get 2 same temp and same PH water for them constantly. Im sure they will grow well.

Some people tend to use higher water to grow then vertically(from side profile - meaning higer back) this will help to tilt the angle slightly. Some have been able to achieve this with GW(See RG thread)....like you i am also learning but what i know if the water is too deep the tail might become softer....so we need to find the right balance...

But Fret not, a flat tail ranchu does not mean it will not a good swimmer. Treat it well and make it as healthy as possible and im sure it will still swims well. Look it already has a thick peduncle and if you see the AJRS in the early 2000s, one of the EAST OZEKI OYA has an almost flat tail but it still swims beautifully....

Cheers

Bro, problem is I can only imaging but I am lack of the skill to work on it

I am now keeping them in a 3 feet tub and trying on various parameter to monitor their changes for every 3 weeks

The right balance is too hard to achieve. I will need the benefit of 2 worlds into 1 to achieve it. I will not try the high water as I am afraid that higher water pressure will press on the tails core more.

Bro, thanks for kind word but the east ozeki is an oya, I think oya will have flatter tail than when it is younger due to the increase mass of head and body. The red one is a cbr and I only can hope it will develop a stronger oza to hold up the tails core.
Cheers
Bro, I am looking into the kind of food to feed them in my next phase of learning. Can share with me your experience?

Bro Imagine what you want it to look like in the future...if you want it to be bigger, a warmer water will help, if you want the funtan to grow, use cooler water and lots of Bloodworm, if you want nice texture to the scales, green water will help and if you manage to cool the water at the same time will be better help, if you want the peduncle to grow thicker pump it alot with proteins food and then fast it for 1 day every week....

I do not agree with you saying that OYA generally have flatter tail. Where you got this info from. The angle of the tail will not change much unless it is broken. That was why i pointed that one of EAST OZEKI OYA was a very good swimmer even though it had a generally flat tail....

I think the best food is still the bloodworm.....if you can feed them with it many times in the morning will be good...afternoon let it swims to burn and exercise, feed it another time in the evening. Then you water change....if you notice, the ranchus that eat bloodworm is not as sluggish as those eating pellets(after a few rounds of food). But i think the best pellet food is the chanko. It is really really good.

What im sharing is only from my short experience in keeping goldfish. I Still need many many years more to learn. Learning is a whole live thingy....the moment we stop learning is the time to say good bye to this lovely world. Cheers
