Debris trapped between overflow plates
I am using a underflow-overflow system from main tank to the sump. There are lots of debris (i.e. leftover fish food, detritus, dead fish ) trapped between the underflow & overflow plates. Gap is only about ~5mm.
How to clear these debris between the plates? thanks |

the air tube option difficult... challenging to place the air tube to reach the bottom of tank...
the balloon stick is good... but have to find balloon stick...... that's tricky... .... trying to find a good size wire (from clothes hanger) now to see if it fits.... |

Last time have this problem I went to buy the cane. The wooden cane which parents used to punish small children. Try to pick those thinner in diameter or it may get stuck.

Can try run your top up water tube/hose below the overflow to "blow" the debris over.
