Possible to Return to Normal?
haven't go through these before so need advise from all.
recently been seeing a lot of aro's being neglected by owner. so was thinking, instead of buying, why not i just 'adopt' with a small fee. the aro's mostly under fed and stunted. 2-3 years plus aro but size only about 11-13 inches. Eyes looked big. so, the main question is; is it possible to pump back the aro to its glory with lots of TLC and food? meaning the body will continue to grow bigger and the eyes match back the body size. opinions very much needed. thanx in advance. |

For a stunted aro if we provide it with bigger swim space, good water parameter and regular feeding, the body size/mass i believed can improved slightly.
I have a friend whom like buying stunted aro with good color development for keeping because he like small body size aro as his hobby. If TS is not concern with the stunted aro body size and if the aro really look beauty, can think over and consider buying or adopting it from the owner. |

Strictly my personal experience.
I bought a few neglected Arowanas which was in very bad conditions. They all looked like tekko (bamboo pole). One died two days later, the other five grew alot within the next few months and manage to catch up with the rest inside my tank. There's also this fish I've bought from the farm, reached home put inside tank within five minutes started eating my stingray food (sotong) non stop until it's belly bloated up. I also bought a semi short body xb, kept for few months became normal xb.... Obviously it's semi short body is due to deprivation of food and not genetics. You can imagine how long those poor fishes were deprived of food. |

No offence, if u wanna adopt the fish with a small fee,why so bother if the fish can catch up with their peers ? Y not pay a little bit more and get yourself a better fish ? |

thanks for all the feedbacks.
the reason why i'm thinking of adopting with small fee is because its really a sad scene. the owners bought and neglect them half way. if continue being neglect by the owner, the aros will only have one ending; the end of its life. so rather than buying new perfect aros, i have a thinking to save them. i guess i will proceed to adopt rather than buying perfect ones. u guys answers gave me more confidence in adopting them. thanks to all |
