By looking at the amount of bubbles coming out of the bottle.....are you using a strong air pump? which brand?

its not really strong, just normal, its cuz i take out the valve and also i put 2 air stones inside therefore allowing the air pump to release its maximum potential.

One air long air stone (about 5cm long) at the side that runs the air at the side, and one medium short (2cm) airstone that runs the air thru the middle

The air pump is "Shiruba" brand "jumbo-I" model, ad-dc

its the best i've used so far. hope it helps

Nitrifying bacteria are sensitive to light, esp at the lower end of the spectrum (300nm to 450nm). However, after they've colonized a surface, light poses less of a problem...

During the 1st 4 days, many of the cells r suspended in the water before becoming attached... Aggressive mixing hinder attachment and exposes them to light which may be a problem during start-up...

Dark, cooling with plenty of fresh air & food is best for reproduction...

Hi all,

I recently did one of these myself. Just wondering averagely how many days will it take to make the stuff rotate? Now it seems all stuck on top only. Into my 3rd day already.

And of cos there are fishes .

I did 2 for 2ft tank. If i use strong air pump the 2nd or 3rd day 1/4 will start rotate.
