but 1 month does not mean the benifical bacteria is formed in the media . i recoment you to get a bottle of nuffin cycle . i dose that maybe once a month during Water change , but i do water change once 2-3 day . just to ensure there are benifical bacteria in the filter

Water change during tank cycling will only prolong it....

As others has mention... take out any CC should there be any...

i kind of ran into the same issue with the ph being so high (my was around 7.6-7.8) for the first couple of weeks, i then used the discus buffer to slowly bring it down to 6.8-7.0; my three arowanas are now happy!
