Thank you all bros for the support and encouragement! I have test kits for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate as I'm keeping other fish too. However, are GH and KH important as well? It seems so after reading up threads on the forums and other websites on shrimps.

Also for TDS, I'm lost as to which range to follow as many websites say different things! Hence, I've decided to what I believe is the general consensus of the accepted range between 150-200. Should be getting a TDS meter after the tank is cycled

Just did a test, here's the verdict!

pH: 5.0
NH4: 0mg/L
NO2: 0mg/L
NO3: 25mg/L
Seems like I can put shrimps inside? However I feel that the pH is too low

Water parameter not stable yet. Let it mature some more and take another reading to determind bro. If no livestock in there, I will usually just let the ph alone. It's easy to rise the ph level imho.

How long was the cycle?? Ph should go up and stablise at 5.5 after a WC should be around 5.6-5.8
Ada soil? maybe will stablise at 5.5
Benibachi would stablise at 5.8-6

Benibachi soil shouldn't have such low PH iirc.

Any idea why mine is so? I'm using old media from my arowana sump tank so this may have caused this tank to be cycled fast.
