Last time those Hook that knocked onto glass I have keep them for 2~3 yrs also, they do occasionally bang onto the the glass but the serious knocked that killed 1 EBH but 1 red Hook ss survived after swimming unside down for 2 weeks, not eating for antoher 1 week.

Anyway, that red Hook still with me for coming 5th yrs. I see can find any video I took when it was after the serious bang.

Thanks bro..

My last ebh has succumbed to the same situation as the other two.. Upside down now..

Last night witness for myself it bang the glass very hard as it got spooked by my peacock bass are fighting.. After that just lost control of its swimming like unable to swim properly.. This morning woke up its upside down already..

They have taken hard knocks to tank glass before as I witnessed but nothing happened to them but recently all started dying after hard knocks..
Wonder what's the reasons.. Could it be size(13-14"ish, they are fat and bulky), or maybe old age?

Not sure of life span of this fish. That is why asked you how long you keep the fish, from small or already adult when first kept. Aged fish more prone to sickness and accident injury. I see you having more sensitive tank mates and they are okay, no reason for the hook which is more hardy to die if there is other issue like upkeep.
