oh.. ok. so adviseable to fill up the bioball and demiball 1:8 full in the FR? will is be better if i have 2 cylinder, that means 2 FR, one is for bioballs and demi balls, another contain carbon? the input of 1st FR will be from tank, then go through bioballs and demni, the output flows into second FR that contain carbon, then the output goes to the OHF?

No no no. Mixed them up together. As for the gac, it is up to you. I would prefer to filter the output with wool and then followed by gac. You experience slime coming out from the denitrator.

NO NO NO. Do not mix gac together with the bioball and deniball. The gac will be rendered uselss because it will be coated with the anearobic bacteria and especially the slime.

Bro Atom,

My Nitrates are at 0 or very close to it, judging from the API Nitrate test.

The flow is a constant stream, alot more than a few drops a second, but the smell of hydrogen sulphite still exists (rotten egg smell)

When i open the cabinet to my sump, it smells..

The output is dripped onto cotton, then GAC, then flows onto the normal media of the sump (ehfisubstrat etc).

There is two airstones in the sump as well..

Is there anything else i can do? or be wary of?

Regards,
David

Better check the recirculating pump on whether it is choke. Btw, what denitrator you using?
