so after normal water change you will add in the sodium bicarbonate?
how long before you change water again?

For me, my water is usually aged minimum 3 days. Uncle at gup galaxy told me best results to age 2 weeks! I add the recommended dosage of water conditioner (tetra aquasafe), and also a dash of sodium bicarbonate. The pH is consistent around 7.5. The pH on my tanks are stablised between 7.0 to 7.5.

Before I started the habit of using sodium bicarbonate, I noticed that my tanks drop to pH <6 sometimes. Now I'm a firm believer of aging and sodium bicarbonate.

I add the sodium bicarbonate into my aging tank/pail, then let it age.
For my smaller tanks since I'm cycling them now, I WC twice a week. 10% on Weds and 20% in weekends.
For my other cycled tanks, I WC 20% once every week during the weekends.

Bro, IMO for ur cycling tank, u should reduce the feeding and prevent water change as water change will only prolong the cycling duration. Just my 2 cents opinion.

Whatever conditioner you use, aged water is the best.
Just add recommended dose and age tap water as long as you can. If aged only 2 days or less then put air stone just after add conditioner to make it circulating.
Check pH and temp of aged water before add.
Aged water will guarantee no casualities.

Remove waste and water from tanks/containers. Add water with water conditioner. Need to ensure pH and temperature between tank water and tap water same or near.

I hold water in a big tub for 1 day before use. I use Prime and add a little epsom salt to the water and I also have a bag of crushed coral in the tub. I would age the water longer if possible but minimum 1 day or so before use.

Do you add the water then the conditioner or the water conditioner then the water? What is the flow rate of your water when you are topping up? I dont seemed to have much success without aging my water.
