PSU Query
My desktop casing has a cooler master 500W and board is still the very old dual core CPU. I have a 2TB HD (Win7) with a CD-RW still on the old cable connector.
The moment I put another 1TB HD (Win10) as slave and go BIOS setup, the 2TB HD is not detected. Once I disconnect the 2TB, no problem. So I can only connect 1 HD and not 2 tgt. So weird, the 500W supply should be able to power both HD, correct me if wrong. Both as long as I connect only 1HD, no issue on booting up either Win7 or Win10. From this issue, anyone know what is the actually problem. Power not enough or other problem. |

Add up all the power requirements of your hardware as a gauge.
500w Psu not very much if need to power mobo, gfx, soundcard, 2 hdd, CD-R etc. I always check here before buying https://pcpartpicker.com/ |

Going to try to put 2pcs of 1TB HD and see if BIOS able to detect both. If still can only detect 1 then most likely is PSU issue. |

No SSD to try. I will try 2pc 1TB. Yes power direct from the PSU and also supply to other connectors.
