Fry Update
An update the progress of my first L46 spawn. Harvested a clutch of 10 eggs, 3 turned bad.
Currently 7 wigglers in the box.. The big challenge is approaching when the time comes to wean them onto pellets.. Definitely going to be tough when school starts again next week. *fingers crossed! (Sorry about the blurry images, they are incredibly hard to take due to the low light and the lack of a macro lens ) Day 7: Day 11: Also, thought i'd introduce the parents Proud Father (always to shy for photo-taking ): The badly battered Mother on the left (notice the torn tail ontop and bite marks on the lower end of her body): |

Would like to get the advise regarding the diet for the fries to wean them onto pellets; what would work best for them?
I was thinking of 3 options– NLS 0.5mm pellets, TetraBits (those meant for Discus and Angels) or crushed Carni pellets. Could anyone please advise me? Thanks in advance! |

Currently feeding lionhead and carni pellets for my adult fishes. I just use those that I have( 40-60 ratio, lightly crushed ). |

About the tetrabits, they are already very fine... So I thought they could be a good alternative for the fries. |

I think it all falls to your fries. some like NLS, some like terabits, some like gel type of food. you need to trail and error. not all fries will start to eat. and remember dun overfeed them.

just to check the reason not to overfeed ?
they will over eat and die or if they dun eat the water parameters will be affected ? |
