rule number 1... dont let greed get the better of u if it's too good to be true. it usually isnt.
at any rate i've seen reds go for as low as 400 sgd recently on facebook. and some nice mid to large pieces for very cheap because of comm defects or other minor defects be it perm or not perm. just 2 weeks ago i saw a very nice 22-24" red being sold for $600 because it had cloudy cataracts which the owner couldnt treat. cost price was $3xxx. i informed my friend and let him buy it cause i have no more room for more aros, doubt he'll have any issue curing it. few months back i myself let go a decent red at $500 cause of comm fail. buyer has since groomed it to a very nice looking red. i didnt lose much either cause i got it cheap as well due to previous owner wanting to clear the tank for another red. point is.. lots of good deals around.. all the more so nowadays since a lot of ppl are giving up on the hobby and selling their aros at very good prices... search harder and u'll find what u want. i actually forced myself to stop looking around online so much because i keep getting tempted to buy cause of the pricing but i can't cause i have no more space... end up make myself heart pain only lol. pic of the red i sold for $500 last year: |
