Default How I raised my guppies in Marine Tank

As we know that some farms or lfs guppies are put in water with high salt content, and claimed that it helps to improve the growth and quality of guppies. I'm not too sure about that claim but anyway I intend to try if guppies can be raised in marine tank - that is marine salt water with sg of 1.022!

I put 3 pieces of albino and 3 pieces of grey eye guppies in a freshwater tank. Each day, I increase the the marine salt content and for about a mth, finally increased it to a sg of 1.022.

Sad to say that on the 4th day of the experiment, all the grey eye guppies died floated. Surprisingly, the 3 pieces of abinos are doing fine. So I put another 2 pieces of grey eye guppies on the fourth day to continue the experiment, but again after 2 days they died. So I continued with the experiment with just the balanced 3 albino guppies till it's finally done.

Still wondering why the grey eye guppies couldn't make it but the albinos can - I took 1 of the albinos out and disect it. I find that the swim bladder of the albinos is rather different from the normal grey eye one - and the albino's swim bladder kind of resemble those of marine fish. Probably that's the reason why albinos guppies can survive in the marine water.

After conditioning them in marine water for a mth, I decided to put them in the main tank as shown below. Did you guys see the 2 albinos red grass swimming in the marine tank below (partially block)? It's now about 3 weeks since I put the balanced 2 albino guppies in the main tank and they are doing well.
