Personally, I have never observed any of my otos going for any of my fish foods, regardless of shrimp food or fish food. Not even Hikari Algae Wafers or Sinking Pellets. They seem to be happy just sucking on my tank walls, air tubing and rocks...

I know what you mean. I work shifts and sometimes when I come home after an afternoon shift and the house is all quiet and dark, I will just turn on my tank lights and sit there watching my shrimp tank and my planted tank. Fell asleep a few times in front of the fish tanks...
