Skin quality(not shiroji) is beyond my noobie knowledge. From what I have heard, skin quality is genetic if the koi have it from young, it will have it and with good water quality and food etc one will be able to maintain the skin quality.

Most of my koi don't have good skin quality as I can't afford one. IMHO.

Maybe from this video you can see good skin quality koi that is raise in Singapore.

Hi bro,

Yes it is the genetic. the whole spawn if I am not wrong only 5% are top quality fish. But unfortunately, the 5% are culled from the whole lot and are kept in Japan.

This video is really cool, see all the jumbos. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing this video of very high quality kois. This paul guy has many very nice FAT koi. Must have cost him a bomb. I see a few potential champions in the lot.

This is 1 of the reason why I start to keep again after stopping for many years.

Bro...those koi belong to Bro David Soon.
he named that particular pond, Paul pond.... He has a few other ponds, with different names for easy reference during posting.

You will get this see these koi in this coming weekend NHA show.

Is this a indoor pond ? Is it because the tropical hot sunlight is bad for the koi's skin ?

It is an outdoor pond with roofing to prevent too much direct sunlight shining directly on the pond so that there will be minimal algae grow in the pond.

I do not know whether tropical hot sunlight will be bad for the koi skin. Maybe other can chip in.
