You can create the same temperature as in Japan just by adding a few chiller in your pond and a few oxygen concentrator to improve the level of DO in the pond water....it is as good as (even better condition than the mud pond in Japan).

I dont think our sg water condition is comparable to Japan. Their mud ponds in the mountains are filled with minerals which aid the growth of the koi. |

Bro....come to the NHA show at Max this Sunday morning, and you will see all the locally grow and groom koi.
I do not think there will be any Direct import from Japan for this coming show as the harvesting season in Japan just started, the koi are not ready for export. You will be surprise with the quality, and also the Myths that not possible to grow and groom good any quality koi outside of Japan will probably be smashed. |

Great
Hi, I believe its all about water management, right foods and plenty of sunlights. Of course not forgetting grooming skills, gene, etc to get a champion. Wish I could be there on Sunday. Hope to be able to view some pics from the event.

No doubt can breed quality kois locally if pond is optimal (big pond, chillers, refresh powder, championship feed, super duper filter system etc etc) but IMHO nothing beats the natural mineral rich water in Japan.
IMHO, the four seasons cycle in Japan is also an important stimulant for optimal koi well being and growth. |

Yeah I agree with you. But are you able to get the fish best skin quality in a tip top condition pond in sg?
