External bio filter for a 1000 litres pond?
Hi
I have an external bio filter that I bought from Qian Hu a few years ago for my 1000 litres pond. It is now spoilt and I want to buy a new one. The model that I have (a cylindrical model) is no longer on sale. There are many new models and brands that I saw at SeaView the other day but I just don't know which is a good model or brand. The last one was recommended by a staff at Qian Hu and it costs $680. Would appreciate any advice from you please. Thank you very much. |

Why not try those overhead filter box like those fibreglass type. Can mix your own choice of media.

I would like to recommend laguna pressure-flo filters if budget is not a constraints.
It has internal UV which is 1 plus point. |

Those koi farm will offer more selection in pond filter as they are more specialize in this area. What do you keep in the pond?

On average, hobbist keep their flow rate between 6 to 12 times.
If yours is a 1000ltr pond; a 6000 to 15000ltr/hour submersible pump will do the trick. For replacement; all you need to do is to check out the sizes use for the outlet pipe, match the pump with the correct outlet size and your are Done. Hope it helps. |
