Polling Station Que System
Not sure if anyone experienced similar situation at the polling station. I was given B3 on my polling card and the que was very long. Those with A1 to A3 and B1/B2 was a breeze with Ushers walking up and down calling them to follow right to the front.... just like those in First Class SIA ticket !
I do understand those in special needs or our elderly folks to jump que but I was really angry being treated like taking "Economy Class" ticket in Polling station. In the past few experiences at the Polling station, it was first come first serve first serve but this system was like taking few steps back. A lady in front of me had to work and came early to get stuck in the que ! An elderly lady in front of me is below 65 and limping (need to walk to the bench to sit once a while) has to bear with the long wait. I spoke to one of the senior officers. He explained it was due to grouping of name list. I told him this system is not right and what can he do with this outcome ? I wonder why it was done in manual system in our modern days era? When my turn came, I told the lady who checked our IC to work faster as the que is very long. Being angry, I am not sure I am rational at the polling station ! |

I thought this A1 , A2, B1, B2, etcc..... it's like allocating certain blocks in your estate to each station. Onli among like B2, it's first come first serve. If you in B3, you cannot go to B2 as your name will not appear there.

Oh no...I was given a B3 polling card too.
If I am not wrong, the grouping system will determine the percentages of votes given to the PAP and opposition party. If not, the percentage will not be accurate. That is why you are not allow to cast the vote at the other que. Last edited by spotted; 07-05-2011 at 02:45 PM. |

Mine also B3 but there is no need to wait as bo lang leh, unlike other long queues. It boils down to the right timing when one is there at the polling station....
