wild discus spotted
hi all, look like wild discus is coming soon.. saw some LFS already got wild discus now.. so start a thread to share field report on wild discus for this year end season...
today at C328 saw a tank of "WILD RED DISCUS" size about 3".. color very nice, small small but very red.. so I took a few snap shot to share and comment... I actually ask boss to confirm whether they are "Wild", uncle say yes.. maybe some guru here can confirm again... here are the snapshot (sorry for the lousy photo, actual fish look much better and redder) |

They look very stable and color is showing.. But something funny feeling I think they are not 100% wild caught, they look too stable and when I put my hand above the tank, they all rush up to look for food.. normally wild wild caught one don't do this..unless they have been QT for a long time and get use to human feeding them... That is why i hope some guru can go down and verify this... Maybe it local breed from wild parents discus... Just my guess But nevertheless to say, see fish buy fish... Wild or not wild , must like can liao |

ok, here is the photos of the 2pc that I've tapoa, together with my heckel,
they have been in the tank for 2 hr only and they are swimming around and not hiding... too stable to be true only at time kanna chase around by the big brother red discus (which is the alpha) |

Are they in the mid tier tank? They looked more brown and uncle said they are brown discus.... Or I missed the reds totally??
Never kept discus, so I'm not sure. They could well be F1 again, but marketed as "wild". Like a few months back, some angelfish were sold as "wild" and now they are F1...-_-" there's a difference between wild-caught and wild-type. IMO, there's a chance that LFS/supplier will pass off wild type F1 as wildcaught and sell at a premium.... Sianz. |
