Default W or w/o sand, that's the question

Thinking of doing a com of Altums n wc discus, better to leave it blank? or w sand, tank is 3L x 1.5B x 2.5H, any bros w advice?

I would go with sand, but it also means more maintenance

Personally i would go for sand as i enjoy creating a scape for these lovely fishes. Maintenance wise, i don't really find it a hassle, just some diligence in the water change & the end result is very rewarding.

With sand and white sand will be nicer ....just sand with 1 or 2 branch dw if you want easy maintenance .

aside from aesthetics, wild discus prefer an environment with fine sand as well. They love to blow in the sand to sift for food.

Many tks to all bros for yr advice (good to talk to talk to u again bro Pleco ), the thing abt having a height of 2.5 ft makes it tough to remove the debris at the bottom, need a small ladder now to scrub the tank bottom, however love the beautiful landscaping some of the bros have showcase, hope to share some pics once the cycling is done.... Cheers
