When DTL2 opens in Dec, there could be more problems due to the new trains. The increasing ridership of Bukit Panjang and Punggol LRT is also a big big problem as the hardware was not designed for that kind of ridership.

CCL might also start to show signs of problems and the old NS/EW upgrading will takes forever with the hardware unable to handle the increasing ridership.

My opinion is Lui Tuck Yew is not suited for Politics. He borders to being tactless.

During the last election, there was this resident who tried to ask LTY why he should vote for LTY. And he got replies like why he shouldn't vote for the Opposition and vote for the PAP. When the resident persisted in asking, and at the same time saying he wasn't asking abt the Opposition or the PAP but LTY himself, the resident got brushed away.

And this was LTY reply to the resident when he emailed LTY on that matter

" I am sure this may not apply to you given that you have now taken the trouble to write this note but unfortunately I encounter some people whose minds are made up and whose main intent seem to be to slow us down in our outreach. And nothing, we say, no explanation we give whether to do with cost of living, etc will ever be good enough.
The pragmatic way to deal with this is simply to disengage at an opportune moment. Dont worry, it didnt leave a sour note with me nor a poor impression of you. "

I have nothing against the Minister trying to solve transport woes. The problem was created way before him and it's probably too monster of a problem now.
