There's so many MRT breakdowns......and if they peg the fare raise to it......there will simply be no raise for at least the next 5 years.......

If our during our annual appraisal we did not hit KPI we should tell our boss to increase our bonus and salary. Our KPI should be another issue to be address separately later.... gum bo.

Maybe train operator, maybe a low level mechanic? Not the top, they are secured to withstand the strongest tsunami or typhoon. Last edited by globalcookie; 20-11-2013 at 02:37 PM. |

Based on current seats of 87, Opposition needs to win 30 seats to derail the 2/3 majority. Currently, there are 6 seats occupied by Opposition.
To derail PAP's 2/3 majority, there needs to be another 24 seats won by Opposition (to make 30). Can this happen in GE2016? Who do we think may qualify and win in 2016? Anyone keen to share their hopeful list? My dream team, I hope: - Dr Chee Soon Juan sets up a strong team of 4 or 5 to win 1 GRC - Hopefully NSP decides to heed the wishes of voters and win 1 GRC This will only see about 10. - WP wins another 2 GRCs (incld Gerald Giam) - SPP also forms a reliable team and wins a few seats (not so hopeful tho) - A few SMCs. This may be the closest we may get to having the 30 Opposition. RP..... is as good as a disorganized and desolated team, not much hope or wishes from them. |

If u look at the social health report 2013, u'll see that although there are plenty of positives in the report, like for eg. greater diversity in parliament, progress in civil society, new charities, increase in volunteer work, growth in arts and culture etc etc, there are also a certain number of negative trends.
The number of negative trends include weakening family ties, parenting stress, less desire to hv children, divorces, healthcare, foreigners, housing etc For the purpose of staying within topic, I'll just point out the main factor relating to transport which is income. Income ...... this is important cos the new fare adjustments are supposed to be pegged to wage increase. Average income increased for all Singaporeans. But wait, when u dissect it further, u'll realise the low income group at the bottom 10% actually experienced a decline in wages. Gross real median wages for 9 common occupations listed by MOM fell. So who are those who experienced real wage increase ??? Yes you got it, The top and higher earners. But who are the ones who take public transport ? Yes, u also got it. The middle class who experience neutral wage increase and the low income who experience declining wages. Public transport fare adjustments do not affect the top and high earners, of which their average income is taken into consideration. While I acknowledge that the operating costs for public transport has increased, this is supplemented by govt grants and the rental income these companies received. The peg on fare increase to average wage increase is therefore flawed. At most, it should be pegged only to median wage increase. And that will also hit the common folk, just not as hard as taking all the top and high income earners wage increase when they decide the fare adjustments. |
