I lose half my spawn to fungus and the egg yolk leaking.....
any advice??? the breeder box is positioned in font of the cannister outlet for current and oxygen flow.. |

they have spawned before about 3 months ago...
I have 1 confirm pair + 1 unknown. The first spawn I let the male take care of the eggs, there were 3 survivors- 2 normal, 1 deformed. maybe next time should let the male do all the work... |

You may take out the eggs on day 5 when the eggs have hatched. That will give you more success in raising them. Sometimes when the male is a first timer, usually it'll cut down (eat) on the eggs to something it can handle.
On the other hand, you could make a DIY egg tumbler for the current batch. Egg tumbler Just use a large enough clear acrylic tube, tie some filter netting at the bottom using rubber band or something you fancy and finally adding an air stone with bubbles just enough to move the eggs gently. HTH |

Yeah a few times, sometimes lucky will all hatch but more often will kenna fungus. Some websites say must use methyl blue but I don't dare use medication for my Pleco. Best is empty the cave about 1 week after the female leaves the cave, the fry should have just hatched and more likely to survive.
