Default Tangan Tank Update July 2017

sharing my 5 years old 5x2.5x2.5 approximately 235 gallon Tangan community tanks consist mainly of Alto Comp (Pardon the dither fishes Congo Tetres Non-Tangan, the Tangan fishes basically leave the tetra alone) and also amateur photos taken with iPhone.

thanks for sharing, very nice tank indeed, very natural looking sand which is kept very clean. What's your secret?

Also notice that the rocks are very clean and clear of any algae growth.

Spotted a very nice (perfect contrast) goldhead in the 5th photo

Thanks for compliment

Sand used is size 0, very fine sand. WC once every 2 weeks, max 3 week.

For algae control, i use L200 lemon pleco, really hardworking on algae and they are able to take the tangan water perimeters well and also grow fairly slow. Been using L200 for 5 years already...

Yes... That is a nice WC Muzi (2-3yrs back) previously from Paul Chu AMK(closed)

Default Sharing Pictures of Tangan Tank

Managed to find some time to take some pictures. Sharing Pics of my Community Tanganyika Main tank consists mainly Alto Compressiceps.
Occasional some chasing here and there, but overall a still fairly peaceful tank.

I have been all along using grade 0 super fine sand for the last 5 years. I find that the dirt dun really get trapped in the sand. The larger piece of dirt if any get siphone out during Bi-weekly WC.
