Very nice simple planted tank setup. Lighting is not strong enough and in weeks time you can see your plants won't look healthy. Do try improving on the lighting for your planted tank.

You should keep the lights switched on 6-8 hours, lesser at the start.

Too much light will cause algae bloom!

Does it matter whether is it Night or Day time ? or is it as long as 6-8 hours anytime of the day

Hi, its been awhile since I took a break from this hobby but apart from the lighting issues, I realised your hairgrass (front right plant) are planted in bunches ? May wanna spread them out more to prevent algae growth due to insufficient water flow

Si fu, still waiting for your contact number. Lol. Lost the details when my phone decided to remain in Japan.

TS, for starters, ADA soil doesn't require washing. It is also normal to experience cloudiness after adding water in, depending on how the water was added. I generally just leave the filter to run with fine filter wool until the water clears up (usually 2-3 hrs) before changing the wool again. You can set your plants and decor before or after filling up with water, no hard and fast rule about it. However, it is good to do some research prior to buying the plant stock as well as your hardscape materials, to ensure you are getting the right stuff. Not all rocks are suitable for use in an aquarium, same goes for plants and livestock. Depending on your planted tank concept, be it high light or low light, will determine things like fertilisation regime, CO2 requirements, lighting duration/level, temperature, livestock and plant mix, etc.
