Which kind of mahseer has a dark line that goes from head to tail?
My lfs has some that are 3.5 to 4 inches long. They are being sold as golden mahseer, but I'd like help to get scientific name.

I've also seen pictures of "golden" mahseers with a dark horizontal line too, but I don't know scientific name.

Here's a pic of what I'm looking into buying.
They move around a lot but you can see one pretty clearly on the bottom left. |

Bro, I can see that they have slightly rounder head shape. Tor Putitora or Golden Masheer do have the black horizontal line, but they also comes with a sharper and slender head and body shape.
This is mine for your sample. |

Could be blue masheer but which type you might have to dig out the info from your LFS owner.
For your info in the same place of the Golden Masheer there are also Tor Khudree ( Blue masheer ) and Tor Tor ( Shortgill Masheer ) and then we have our Asian region mainly Thai and Malaysian Blue kelah. |

Thank you. Unfortunately, in the US mahseer are not common at all. The LFS is waiting on my findings to be able to tell its customers.
It remains to be answered. What fish is this? |
