KH value in your tank

Dear all,

Do remember to check your KH value of your tank water. A low KH value will cause high fluctuation of the pH value in your tank and will also affect the Nitrification process of your Filtration system as the Nitrification BB require Carbon content as their food source.

For those with low KH may consider buffering the KH with coral chip, oyster shells or adding bicarbonate soda.

FYI I just tested the KH of our tap water and its at 2dKH only, which is at the low side. So do remember to buffer your tank

I have to dose bicarbonate regularly. Try to maintain 6-8dh for my pond.

Lately got a lot of rain. My oyster shell cannot keep up.
