For 3 years old, it should not eat more, especially Red, perhaps Gold will eat slightly lesser then Red, but some came be a big eater.

bro, my 22" 4-year-old goldie went on hunger strike for some 3 weeks hoh

the off-food bout begun when it was about 3.5 years old.

looked very healthy leh and so me just did not care too much; continued the regular water parameter maintenance etc throughout the no-food period.

now, feeding it with mp on alternate days; if it is happy it makan or else it could not even bother to look at the mp. (to remove the mp after 5 min)

from my previous experience, when aro starts to mature, they tend to go on diet for days to weeks.
