2 filters for a 6ft?
Hey All,
In regards to a 6 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet tank, I was wondering if its better to have two smaller canister filters at either ends of the tank instead of one big cannister filter to ensure good water flow and co2 distribution. My concerns is that will the fishes in the tank be disorientated by two water flows in two different direction? At first, I thought of having two filters at one end of the tank, but as the filters have to be powerful enough to reach the end of the 6ft, I am afraid that the current will be too strong at the start of the filter outlet. Thanks for all your advice. |

wow.. 6x1.5x1.5 is pretty low for a planted tank.. why not try for 622? or even better 633... anyway, 2 filter would be much better.. but for a 6ft tank.. a sump would fit the job.. just increase ur co2 rate to make up the loss of co2 with sump..

Its OK.
You can have both inlets at both ends, and the outlets fitted with rainbars placed at the back of the tank and all facing the same direction (probably towards the front). I personally would prefer this option. |

I dun think sump is good for planted tank at all leh.. at the amount of water surface moving, its gonna be a waste of co2. Quote:
The filters I will be using are two eheim pro2 2026. 611's volume will just be about under 400 litres. P.S. Thanks mod for shifting this thread.. sorry for posting in the wrong forum. |

I think 2 filters one at each end would be perfect. allows water circulation of whole tank and suction at both ends.. greatly reduces "dead space"... one of ur outlet can "move" e surface while another pointed downwards at 45degrees...
i dunno.. jus my 2 cents... PS: dun use sump tank la... like mine...losing alot of CO2.. |
