Query
I want to make a DIY PVC canister filter.
Does anyone know where can we buy 4-8" diameter PVC piping of 2-4 feet here in Singapore ? I will also need to buy the appropriate pipe end caps and 0.5" tight liquid fittings for the hoses. Thanks ! |

Industrial or hardware shops might have, west I only buy at toh yi estate or toh guan area for Pipings.
I am not against the ideal but the price of the Huge pipe not cheap. And if over time , might leak unless ur pump is after filter , so canister is not positive pressurize. I rather get a aftermarket one to at leak less worry 4-8 inch , pretty small canister, 2nd hand eheim 2213 or 2211 will might get cheaper than u built one |

Jalan Besar, French Road, King George's Ave.
A few shops in this area should carry what you need.

I have been to many hardware shops but they usually stock up to 3" diameter pipes only.
It is not a small filter. It is a 4-8" diameter PVC piping of 2-4 feet. I also need the appropriate pipe end caps and tight liquid fittings for the hoses. My main purpose for this custom filter is to fill it up with only pea gravel and serve as a mechanical filter and ease of maintenance. I just have to open up the filter and just pour out all the pea gravel, wash and put it back. No need to fiddle with mulitple filter baskets or containers. Any definite hardware shop address ? |

DIY is the fun out of it .
If build and can use is happier then buy new 1 . If cannot then you learn something from it . Also provide you have time to spend and not urgently for your setup . Enjoy your project . |
