Default what is the bare minimum size to consider when buying ITs

hi any of the bros here can advice what is the minimum size to look out for when buying ITs?i started out buying the really small ones because there were sold cheap but they all died within a week and i found out datnoids are prone to sudden death syndrome at small sizes so at what size are ITs so called safe from sds and therefore ok to buy?

Bro from my experience small IT should do fine in mature tank with hiding place, raised quite a few small ones before without them dying seems like a very hardy fish once settled in. Maybe can include some hiding space for smaller IT as they tend to get stressed easily. Jus my 2cents

I've bad experience with those really small ones, probably 1" or so. They're more prone to sds I reckon. That said, I recently had a first sds casualty after some time and that happened to a 2.5" piece.

To be safe I think at least 4" and up should be quite safe, and would also be a better bet as you can judge easier if it's clean or unclean.

haha the tank i kept them in was a planted tank with uv lamp so i honestly cannot think of any other reason for them dying other than sds

Also heng suay. When very small OK. Once one become alpha then rest always bullied and cornered. Only alpha swims ard.

Then when too big. Depends ...
I nv grew till v big. Mostly 8" I sell. I heard big attack aros. And till v big OK. Well those who kept from small till huge can comment on this.
