Default Discus Pair With Fries

Finally my discus eggs turned to wrigglers. During this stage, normally do u wc. As the fries are too small, worry my tube might suck them away. Any suggestion? Saw them swimming around but did not stick to the parents body. Currently can I buy boons & feed those fries? Tks!

bro,
you dun need to change water for the time being.
let them feed on the parents first and you should feed them BBS instead of boons as they are not very clean...

You can start to feed live bbs 3-4 days after the frys attach. Once you start feeding them, make sure you do a partial change at least once daily.

how big is ur tank? if it's smaller than 2ft, u may do wc every 2-3 days.

my fishes are accustomed to weekly large water changes to 80%, so i can do 1 week wc for a 2ft tank. much depends on how comfortable the parents are with wc (to prevent eating the fries).

i won't recommend too frequent wc (~1-2 days once) for fries up to 2 wks old.

It depends on how you manage your water. My fries get 50percent water change since day 2 of free swimming when I see that they can swim well and attached to parents, I will slowly increase water change till it hit 90% daily which is about 2 weeks old

If you are new. I would suggest you to keep water parameters. The survival rate is higher. Fries are very sensitive. They can collapse anytime after water change.

They won't eat now until free swim. Don't think they can swallow boons at free swimming stage. Maybe after swimming for 1 week. Just maintain good clean water. Keep your beef/pig heart out. Bloodworm is ideal. Don't over feed. Suck out dirt carefully. Good luck.
