Default How to grow discus till 8"?

Hi,

Wonder what need to be done to get discus to become a giant of 8"? Anyone care to share. Tks

i'd think frequent bh feeding, wc.
genetics play a part too?

haha...if every hobbyists also know how, then breeders will be out of biz in no time. Jus like, every hobbyists now know how to breed, many breeders are indirectly forced to close (looking at the no. of discus shop/breeders that hv closed so far) - jus my observation, I may be wrong.

Anyway, I believe genetic is important, but no matter how good is the gene, w/o good food, sufficient feeding and water management, discuses will never reach their potential.

Yes...it shouldn't be rocket science, but how many hobbyist can
keep a discipline regiment of feeding/change water three to four
times a day.

obviously it isn't as easy as it sounds, I stopped discus long long ago due to having to maintain water, constant WC and constant time dedicated to them. Its not rocket science due to even the simplest things can aid in growing discus into beauties. Yes it sounds easy but obviously its not, im sure bro itchy knows this ,
