To be honest I never really monitor since they started spawning; rarely on the light just feed and always always see him in his cave, then whenever I see free swimming fry I take them out, I have yet to raise a full clutch eg. take out the eggs before they hatch as I'm not very familiar with the procedure and I'm afraid I might disrupt their activities

Could it be scraping against the inside of the cave? Because as far as I can tell he almost never comes out and he is also the biggest of the lot so I doubt it could be an encounter with the other fellows

I was looking at my zebra tank and found a small fry inside. Was thinking my few month old fry got so small meh. Then I took a torch and check out the caves and found one with a male and a clutch of eggs. So happy got Christmas present from my L46. They must have been secretly breeding inside.

Ever since my spawning female died no spawning activity and some more it's by another male.

Thank you bro! Merry Christmas to you too! Now I got dilemma as I had initially wanted to combine all 21 adults into my 4 ft tank from the current two 2ft tanks. Now they start to breed dunno want to combine still. But this is a happy problem.

The sand in front too high so cannot look into the other two caves. Dunno got more breeding or not. Haha

I like how the zebras have a lot of crevices to hide in amongst the rocks and that the rocks "open up" facing the current from the pump.

Yeah no choice because I have 10 adults and some fry inside the 2ft so need to provide a lot of hiding space or else sure fight until jialat.
